Hitler’s Private World


An amazing combination of technology and human skill give voice in this video to the dictator’s private time… assisted, in part, by the only known recording of Hitler in private conversation in existence (the room was bugged by his host):

When Adolf Hitler bought Eva Braun a movie camera, to film the people and parties which occurred at their Bavarian retreat, the technology to include synchronized sound had not yet been developed.

So when soldiers discovered Hitler’s private home movies, in the Berlin bunker where the Nazi leader took his own life, the tantalizing clips they unearthed, featuring leading members of the SS in a more relaxed mode, remained silent for 60 years.

Now, leading edge lip reading software has enabled German experts to re-voice these films and provide us with a chilling insight into Hitlers private world.

HOWTO - Getting Started with Arduino

R. Stern has posted an introduction to the Arduino as a means to jumpstarting efforts in DIY electronics:

I’ve compiled a brief tutorial on getting started with Arduino for the absolute beginner. I’ll cover where to learn, what to buy, and where to go for help. Why should you crafters be interested in Arduino? The Arduino platform, more-so than any other way of incorporating electronics into your projects, is geared towards do-it-yourselfers. It’s open source (both on a hardware and software level), so the community plays a large role in its development and improvement.

I like it! Definitely worth bookmarking…
